MARYLAND PRECINCT (Bowie, MD) Richard LaPorta Geese Police of Maryland is owned and operated by Rich LaPorta. Rich LaPorta was a former employee of Geese Police Inc. headquarters before deciding to open his own franchise. He was employed by Geese Police headquarters located in New Jersey for 5 years. Rich attended the University of Colorado studying one year for Computer Sciences before returning to New Jersey. He took one year off to work. While working at a local gas station, Rich met several employees of Geese Police in addition to David Marcks, the owner. He was given a business card to call if he ever wanted to work for Geese Police. When Rich had first heard of Geese Police from family & friends while away at school in Colorado, his response was "No way any one would pay for some guy to bring his dog to your place to run after geese." He later learned there is a lot more to it than that. Rich started working for Geese Police a few months after returning to New Jersey. In addition he attended DeVry Institute, where he received a degree in Computer Networking. While in school and after graduation, Rich worked for Cisco for about one year. He would work for Geese Police when he could. It took him a while but he finally realized Geese Police was the job for him. He discussed his decision with his family, who knew he loved the outdoors and working with animals. The possibility of owning his own franchise of Geese Police was his dream which was fulfilled in March 2004 when Rich opened our Bowie, Maryland office. Rich's love for animals is not unusual in his family as everyone in his family works with animals. His father is a pet photographer who owns, Paws for Photos. His web site is www.pawsforphotos.com.
